Poster
On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Rubén Marciel Pariente (Pompeu Fabra University) will participate in the 90th session of the TDJ workshop to present the paper: "Justificación moral e inviabilidad constitucional del derecho ciudadano a la información".
Rubén Marciel holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Valladolid, a Master's degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training (specializing in Philosophy) from UNED, and a Master's degree in Political Philosophy from Pompeu Fabra University, where he later conducted his doctoral research (on the citizens' right to be well-informed) as an FPU fellow in the Law & Philosophy group. During his doctorate (2019), he was a visiting researcher at the "Normative Orders" center of the Goethe University Frankfurt. Subsequently (2022-2024), he has been an associate professor and substitute professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher, once again, in the Law & Philosophy group at UPF, where he is carrying out a project on republican theory, deliberation, and media financed by a postdoctoral grant from the Irla Foundation. Within the framework of this project, during the spring of 2024 (March-April), he will conduct a research stay at the Hoover Chair of Economic and Social Ethics (Catholic University of Louvain). His research focuses on the intersection between political philosophy, democratic theory, and freedom of expression, and is primarily (though not only) motivated by the aspiration to find effective solutions against disinformation. He has published in Teorema, Dilemata, Isegoría, Journal of Political Philosophy, and Journal of Applied Philosophy.
